Power quality analysis

As facilities update equipment and automate processes the “quality of power” within a manufacturing plant becomes more important.  Sophisticated equipment operating at higher speeds with sensitive instrumentation is susceptible to electrical power anomalies that cause process equipment to operate erratically, production inefficiencies and unscheduled downtime.

Dial One Wolfedale Electric can perform a power quality analysis of the electrical distribution within your facility. The resulting report will identify the source of the problem to allow appropriate corrective action to better balance and protect this sensitive equipment. Our analysis can offer valuable insight as to what is causing the electrical issues many manufacturing facilities experience today.  When should you request a Power Quality Analysis? If any of the following problems occur in your facility:

Frequency drive faults and failures
Motor overheating and premature failures.
(Motors are meant to last 15-20 years - do yours?)
PLC errors & program failures.
Lights that flicker or electrical “blips”
Computers that are constantly failing or losing data
Transformers that hum loudly and overheat.
Erratic un-explained breaker tripping or fuses opening without a clear cause.
Process equipment stopping without reason.
Electronic boards repairs.
Instrumentation that provides erroneous readings

If any of these are occurring in your facility there is reason to suspect power quality problems. Our DRANETZ power quality instrumentation will help identify the problems and our analysis will assist you in understanding how to correct them.
